Living in Albuquerque: These are a few of my favorite things…🎵

Almost completely surrounded by Mountains, Albuquerque is full of different landscapes, flavors, and vibrant communities. Here are some of my favorite things that I enjoy about Albuquerque.

Majestic Mountains and Hiking Adventures: Albuquerque’s skyline is dominated by the awe-inspiring Sandia Mountains, and as the name states if you catch the timing just right at sunset you can watch the mountain range turn a beautiful Watermelon pink. For me, these mountains aren’t just a view; they have been a safe haven with quiet hikes along the foothills and Tram base that allow me a moment of escape.

Coffee Life: Albuquerque’s coffee scene is surprisingly robust; exploring these spots has been a favorite past time of mine over the years, as new coffee shops come on the scene I’m often the first to rush to it! Here are just a few of my favorites!

Trendy Hangs : Sawmill Market and Tin Can Alley epitomize Albuquerque’s commitment to embracing the modern while honoring its roots. Sawmill Market, a vibrant food hall, is a culinary adventure featuring local flavors and global influences. Tin Can Alley, with its trendy ambiance, showcases the city’s evolving spirit, offering eclectic dining, boutique shopping, and a place to unwind in the heart of the city.

Dog Walks by the Rio Grande: One of my absolute joys in Albuquerque is taking leisurely walks with my dog along the serene banks of the Rio Grande. The gentle flow of the river, the rustle of the cottonwood trees, and the stunning backdrop of the Sandia Mountains create a tranquil escape right in the heart of the city. It’s not just a walk; it’s a daily dose of nature’s beauty.

The Magic of Balloon Fiesta: Albuquerque’s skies come alive during the International Balloon Fiesta, a breathtaking spectacle that captures the city’s essence. The vibrant colors of hot air balloons against the backdrop of the Sandias create a visual symphony that’s nothing short of magical. For me, this annual event is a celebration of community, creativity, and the joyous spirit that defines Albuquerque.

The Enchantment of Local Art and Craft: Albuquerque’s artistic soul shines through in places like Old Town and the Downtown Arts and Cultural District. Whether it’s stumbling upon a mural in an unexpected alley or exploring the studios of local artists, the city continually surprises with its creative expressions

Culinary Delights: Food is a celebration in Albuquerque. From traditional New Mexican cuisine with its rich flavors and green chile kick to the burgeoning craft brewery scene, the city’s culinary landscape reflects its diverse influences and ensures that every palate finds something to savor.

A City of Layers

What I love most about Albuquerque is that there’s always more to discover. Whether it’s a new local coffee spot, a quiet hiking trail you’ve never noticed before, or a weekend event that brings the city to life, there’s something for just about everyone. It’s a place with layers—of history, culture, scenery, and stories.

These are just a few of the things that make my time here meaningful, and I’m always finding new favorites along the way. Whether you’re a visitor or a longtime local, Albuquerque has a way of surprising you.
